Equine Connection Center is an educational and wellness facility providing sanctuary for rescue equines in the heart of Northern Virginia.

Our organization was born out of a desire to share the rewards of working with horses with others, while also providing a safe and supportive landing spot for rescued horses, donkeys, and mules. We believe that every individual has the potential to grow and thrive through connection with these amazing creatures and the experiences gained from working with them can be life-changing. It has been for us!

We are more than what you will find at traditional horseback riding barns or lesson programs. Although there is certainly value to the skills taught in horseback riding lessons, all of our programs are unmounted (non-riding) and focus on relationship building through holistic horse care that is typically not included in most riding lesson programs. One of the greatest lessons we have learned from horses is the importance of being in the moment. Horses have a unique ability to bring us into the present, encouraging us to slow down, appreciate nature, and connect on a deeper level. We aim to partner with our horses to guide individuals towards building confidence, fostering meaningful relationships, and cultivating mindfulness. As you navigate your own challenges and seek positive solutions, our rescue animals offer a healing presence and can help you find your own inner strength, whether you participate in equine-assisted learning or therapy sessions with our licensed mental health providers.

Located in Nokesville, within Prince William County, Virginia, Equine Connection Center serves the greater Washington, D.C. area, including clients from Fauquier, Loudon, Fairfax, and Stafford counties.
